I visited Font de Canaletes famous fountain near the Plaça Real walkway.
It is the most famous fountain in Barcelona. It stated on the website barcelonasiempre.com for travel that the fountain is usually visited by FC Barcelona fans to celebrate football victories. The traditions started back in 1930 when across from the fountain there would be a leading magazine, La Rambla that would keep a chalkboard that would display the final score.
The fountain was amazing and has 4 different faucets to drink water from. The clasp on the faucet to release the water reminds of the similar ones used for beer taps.
I took several pictures and then I drank water from the fountain. The water tasted amazing like clear tap water. The usual tap water that I know but clear and very good.
Barcelona is full of the fountains throughout Barcelona and they are everywhere. Usually they only have one faucet.
It is stated on the site and when I watched the Travel Channel in the past, on a travel show that there was a legend if you drink water from the fountain that you would likely return to Barcelona again.
It was really interesting and I liked it.
I drank water from the fountains in Barcelona several times and I like most the fountain across from the beaches in the park nearest to Somorrostro Beach.
The water is very good and I highly recommend to visit the fountains. It is really a lot of fun.
