Today I visited Casa Amatller and I drank their hot chocolate.
I had noticed the cafe when I visited my first time with a guided tour group. I did not get a chance to go to the cafe and I only visited the ground floor store to buy chocolate.
Casa Amatller is a beuatiful Modernist house designed by Josep Puig and Cadafalch.
The lobby floor is filled with a souvenir shop of the best chocolate. They have various kinds of chocolate that include white, dark, and milk varieties. Some are filled with fruit filling and others are filled with various creams as I noticed quickly. The flavor and the taste is amazing and rich.
My first visit I bought a rich white chocolate and it was amazing and full of flavor. The flavor was rich of a grande white chocolate full of flavor. The choclate taste was strong and the recipe was perfect.
Today I decided to try their hot chocolate because of the large lobby full of chocolates I thought it would be good. It was called Xocolate a la Taza. I received a large cup on a wide tray and they gave small bread sticks that could be a little sweeter.
The hot chocolate was amazing and rich. It was like a liquid pudding, stronger than regular hot chocolates in cafés. The small bread wedges were for dipping in the hot chocolate in the middle of the tray. I received three bread pieces and I loved the taste dipping in the chocolate. It was really rich, strong of dark chocolate, and full of cacao flavor. It was like liquid pudding dripping from the bread sticks.

I loved it a lot and I would greatly recommend it to tourist. The hot chocolate was only 3.80 eur.
Along with the hot chocolate I had also bought a brownie cookie. It was also amazing. It was full of dark chocolate flavor, of a squishy browny, soft in the middle full of chocolate pieces. It was like an orchestra of three chocolates. The chocolate flour of the cookie, the chocolate pieces and the richer softer brownie inside.
Also I bought a small box of white chocolate with lemon filling. It was my first time buying this. Other flavors I noticed included chocolates filled with raspberries and I think various creams like chestnut from what I could see. I decided to buy the white chocoalte filled with lemon. It is really tagy of the lemon taste, just enough, and the white chocolate is rich as usual of the Amatller chocolates. The taste is really beautiful, light and maybe some would favor with a tea.

Amatller chocolates have over 300 years of history. Gabriel Amatller was the first chocolatier and master, and began in 1797 as a first producer during the years of the trade between Spain and America. Antoni Amatller, his son, controlled the quality with the best chocolates from America and Africa, and became one of the best companies in the19th and 20th centuries. There is a sculpture of an Aztec princess with a Castillian prince that symbolizes the journey of the cocoa accross the sea in the building.
I loved my visit a lot and I would greatly recommend it to tourist.
