I went to Mount Tibidabo for the first time in Barcelona last week and it was a lot of fun.
I really liked it and I love the park a lot.
I arrived to the Mountain with the funicular that takes passengers up to the mountain. It is beautiful, new and modern, and it takes passengers quickly up to the mountain. The view is beautiful of the scenery as you climb and it is really fun.
I arrived and the park was beautiful. It was amazing and huge. It has a huge church at the base of the park in the back and some of the theme rides in the front square.
The feeling is amazing and it feels like being on top of a mountain on a large open square.
One of the most famous rides is the Ferris wheel and I loved this one the most.
I went on the Ferris wheel as soon as I arrived. It was not that scary also as it rotated and pivoted inward as it went higher and somehow I always felt inside the Ferris wheel and like I was not going to fall out.
It was multi-coloured with various colors of bright yellow, orange, red and green and I loved taking pictures of it as well.
I took pictures of Barcelona and it was beautiful. The top of the Ferris wheel is the largest peak in Barcelona to take pictures from I think.
The panoramic views are amazing. You can see all of Barcelona, the Glories tower, the Three Chimneys Building, Sagrada Familia, the entire coastline, and many other beautiful buildings. You can also see the beautiful square design of the neighbourhood blocks of Barcelona and generally the layout of the city.
I loved the pictures a lot and the view.
After the Ferris wheel I went to the church. It is a beautiful large Cathedral and one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen. It is cosy inside with rounded edges on the wood, the benches and other work. The feeling is of a grand beautiful church and it smells of incense. The chapel is surrounded by beautiful works on all sides. I loved it a lot and icons.
To reach the church there are beautiful large stairs that you climb that are also amazing. They remind of the classic rounded design of the Roman inspired Spanish architecture that I love. You can see beautiful views of Barcelona all around as you climb them also.
After the church, I went down the stairs and I ate pizza. I chose chicken pizza with one chocolate doughnut. It was at the Airport Cafe near the plane ride. The pizza was amazing with the tasty cheese and the sauce. The doughnut was also amazing, chocolate on the outside and with chocolate filling on the inside. I loved both a lot. The cafe has many foods, various pizzas with toppings, various treats and chocolates and many different foods to order. They have many tables outside and seating areas. It is near a large square to enjoy food, with many fun multi-coloured fun seats.
After eating the pizza, I went on the airplane ride. It was really fun. The plane looks like a plane from the 1950’s and it is amazing. On the inside it really feels real, with the old leather chairs that are really narrow, and the antique wood on the walls of the plane. It really felt like I was in a plane from the past.
The plane spins around a center held by a crane type mechanism. You can take more panoramic views of Barcelona from the plane. The ride is really fun as it spins around and you can enjoy the the feeling, the view, and the sound of the motor. The speed is only slightly faster and really fun.
I like it a lot and took many pictures.
After the plane I went to the Danone yogurt stand. It was my first time trying frozen yogurt. I really liked it. I ordered with chocolate topping, strawberries, and colour coated small chocolate candy. It was really fun and I liked the yogurt. It is the same as ice cream but only slightly sour. I enjoyed the melted chocolate a lot. You can pick many flavours of the melted chocolate, and many of the toppings. The topping include the colour coated candy, various other small toppings, and various fruits. I liked it and would highly recommend it to others. It is really amazing and a huge size for only 5 eur. I could not believe it as I kept eating.
After the frozen yogurt, I tried to find more rides. I especially wanted to enjoy the roller coaster. I walked to a zone below the main base and took an elevator to a floor below. The design of the park is like a part engraved in a mountain, and I felt like I was inside a mountain when I descended.
At the floor below when you arrive there is a long path. On the sides are stands for food and various treats and rides as you climb higher. At the end of the road is the roller coaster. It is called Russian Mountain. There are various rides including swing chairs, free fall for children, and many other fun rides. Many are for kids.
I went on the Russian Mountain roller-coaster (La Muntanya Russa). It is really fun and I did not expect it would be fast at all. It appears like the classic wooden roller-coasters, and I watched while I was waiting to go to the plane ride. It did not appear fast. When I began the ride it was really fast and felt like maybe 80km – 100 km / hour. It descended fast after the climb and went into the winding corners. It was really, really exciting and exhilarating, and it really took my breath away. I tried to raise my hands but it was harder from the pressure. It really felt like the G pressure in planes. It was most likely because it was my first time in a long time and many on the ride, had their hands up the entire time. I loved it a lot and would highly recommend it. It is really fast and fun.
After the roller-coaster, I tried to find something else fun to do. I noticed that in the area there was picnic tables surrounding many stands for food. People could buy food or treats at various stands and go to the picnic tables to eat the food. I wanted to try something fun and I noticed multi-coloured caramelized popcorn. I bought it and it was also really good. The taste of the melted caramel is really sweet and the colors look really fun. I only wanted to try the popcorn, and threw out most of the large bowl for only 5 eur. I would highly recommend it to kids or for fun.
After the popcorn I climbed again back to the main floor. I took more pictures of the Barcelona and the park, and I decided to leave.
Visitors should also know there is another fun part to the park directly below the main base. It is a large open square space that appears like a large play area for kids. It is really fun, open, with various colors, and appears like it could be fun to play in.
There are also bumper cars, many fun rides for children, and museum areas like Museum of Automata and Hotel Krueger.
It is really a lot of fun to be on the mountain. It is a huge open area at the top of Mount Tibidabo and it was really a lot of fun for me.
I had a more some difficulty arriving for the first time to the Mountain Tibidabo funicular, but I discovered the easiest way is the take the Rodalies line L7 to Plaça Kennedy and the Tibidabo Bus to the funicular. The other route is to go to the Plaça Doctor Andreu, and then to take the Tibidabo bus to the funicular. I think the second route is more difficult. It is a large open parking near the Diagonal metro station. I did not try it, but the Rodalies L7 line is easier and really quick. It stops at Cataluña square in the centre of Barcelona.
I would highly recommend to go to the mountain and it is really a lot of fun. I think it is a lot of fun and especially for kids.
