I visited the Greek Gardens in Barcelona.
I had also known about this place and learned from the local Barcelona tourist site.
The site of the gardens is huge. I had not seen a larger garden before this. The site of the garden is near Montjuic mountain in the area and the area is huge.
The park is absolutely beautiful and has aspects of the Greek design. There is a large stairway when entering and it leads and views on a Mediterranean house with the roof tiles that are beautifully placed and remind me of the tiles in Mediterranean movies. The feeling reminds of wind that blows onto the windows of a house near the sea.
There are fountains everywhere in the park. At the very beginning there is a pond with limestone and the entire green appearance that reminds of a pond for frogs. There is water that pours onto the pond.
The central piece of the garden is the Greek theatre. The theatre is designed in a way as if it was for the possibly the politicians during the time of the Greeks or plays. It is a large semi-oval theatre that spans around a centre stage in the middle at the bottom. The designs is amazing and reminds me of the Greek theatres and similar that I have seen in movies. It appears ancient and as if it was reproduced to mimic the ancient theatres The dark black concrete and the stairways with the architecture and details of the Greek period during its time remind me of these theatres.
There is also one interesting section in the middle of the spectator field of the theatre that appears like a chair for the emperor of something that is of interest. Possibly for a main spectator or similar. It is in the middle and looks onto a pond area with 3 lionheads that likely sprout water during times when it is on. It is really interesting with what looks like frogs or tadpoles on both sides possibly for fun. I sat in the chair and it was very deep. I took pictures of the lionheads in it.
The most interesting part of the garden is in the centre of the garden that leads to the top of it. It is an area with stairways that lead to the top of the garden and on the guard rail on both sides, the rail is designed like a small stairway. The water flows on the small tiny steps that from the very top. The look is green of limestone that is slippery and I touched one piece and felt the slippery limestone feel. The design is beautiful and reminds of something from Tenochtitlan and the Aztecs but a more modern feel related to possibly expressing the Greek culture. The small tiny stairway guard rail with the water flowing from it was really amazing.
There are also fountains in the middle sections of the stairs. As you climb the stairway there are various middle sections for the tourist to rest and they are also surrounded by fountains.
There is another section of the garden, deeper in the garden to the right side from the entrance. This section has something like a fountain pond that drips water and stairways on both sides. There are middle sections as you climb and the sections look onto new ponds that drip the water onto the area below. In the middle of the sections the water flows through a part that is cut into the concrete and small rectangular river like that leads to the fountain below. The design also reminds of the designs of the Aztec tribes in their pyramids and something ancient but more with its relation to the Greeks. The fountain ponds remind more of the Mediterranean and their incorporation of the influence with the interesting and abstract rectangular river cuts into the floor.
There are also two more sections in the park with fountains that drip water and one with a modern fountain at the top.
The garden is full of beautiful plants. It is full of beautiful trees with small leaves that sway and various species of trees. There are bushes and pines, palm trees, and various small leaved trees in the park. The feeling is a beautiful garden that is full both of light airy trees and of the thicker pine trees. At the top of the garden there are various areas to sit in with benches. The gardens are more modern with light plants and some areas are deeper within the gardens with larger bushes and trees.
There are also sections at various areas in the garden and mostly in the right area from the entrance for tourists to sit it. There are round areas like benches in an arch and various other sections around statues and mini squares for tourists to enjoy.
The entire garden is beautiful. It is full of so many areas to enjoy. Ponds, fountains, heavy areas with trees and lighter areas for tourists to enjoy with plants. It has large areas with statues for tourists to sit in and other parts to view and enjoy to take pictures in.
The Greek garden is really amazing. I loved every part of it and I loved most the stairs fountain with the tiny stairs on the guard railing with the water flowing down. It reminded me so much of what I would see possibly from the ancient tribes in movies of the Aztecs or similar. I loved the design. I also loved the Greek theatre and it was really an amazing view. It reminded of the ancient design of the Greek theatres. It felt like I was there during the past with the architecture and the darkened concrete.
I would definitely recommend for tourists to visit the Greek gardens and theatre. The area is really beautiful and you can spend a long time with friends or your girlfriend.
I loved my visit a lot and I will visit it again soon.
